Workshops

The projects of the E3 Foundation are developed through and supported by a series of Workshops engaging E3 Fellows, staff of the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research (4CMR, with whom we collaborate on all activities), subject-matter experts, and the outside organisations we inform. The topics of the Workshops change to reflect the specific projects, but the format is generally fixed as:

1. E3 Fellows and 4CMR researchers consult with outside organisations to determine where there are gaps in existing knowledge needed to better assess policies, develop strategies, etc.

2. E3 Fellows and 4CMR researchers hold an internal meeting to determine which gaps we want to fill through specific projects. These gaps become the foci of future Workshops.

3. E3 Fellows and 4CMR researchers, in consultation with our network of other organisations, assemble the existing evidence base to underlie a specific Workshop.

4. This evidence base is assessed and summarised, resulting in a series of documents that participants in the ensuing Workshops are asked to review and reflect upon before attending the specific Workshop. This process of assembling the evidence base and summarising it is itself the result of an initial Evidence Base Workshop.

5. The evidence base is made available to all participants in the upcoming Workshop.

6. The Workshop is conducted at a time, date and location specified, and connected to E3 Fellows and 4CMR researchers through Go To Meeting.

7. A Workshop Summary is prepared describing the results and conclusions of the Workshop, and disseminated to participants to begin the process of development of research articles, briefing papers, etc.
