The E3 Fellows and Associates work in a wide array of areas related to the connections between energy, economy and environment. Current Expertise
 
Economic policy instruments - This includes analysis of the effectiveness of carbon prices, emissions trading, financing of technology innovation, etc at driving the rate of decarbonisation of the global economy.
 
Global carbon sequestration - This includes examination of the ability of vegetation to capture and sequester carbon dioxide, and of the policies, legal instruments, etc needed to encourage REDD-related activities.
 
Built environment - This includes study of specific policies, strategies and actions that reduce the energy intensity of, and improve sustainability of, buildings and associated infrastructure (water, energy, transport, etc).
 
Risk and uncertainty - This includes analyses of the uncertainty in environmental risks (including but not restricted to climate change), and reflection of uncertainty in risk-based policies aimed at protecting ecosystems, health, assets, etc.
 
Social discourse - This includes examination of the philosophical (e.g. ethical), legal, political and other social considerations that frame discourse on environmental, economic and energy policies and affect mobilisation of the will to act.
